The long awaited and often requested “Mac Support” has finally arrived. As of MDaemon 16, you can now synchronize; Email, Calendar, Contacts and Tasks to your Mac computer running OS X. To make this possible the Alt-N development team has added CalDAV and CardDAV functionality to MDaemon as a core feature.
For those of us who have never heard of these protocols, here’s a quick definition from Wikipedia.
CalDAV: An Internet standard allowing a client to access scheduling information on a remote server.
CardDAV: An address book client/server protocol designed to allow users to access and share contact data on a server.
Configuration of these accounts is straightforward. However, we do have documentation hosted on our web site to help get you started (linked below).
